This is a rare and capable 4x4 that has been given a bit of an update. It makes for the kind of truck that you seldom see, but pickup fans never forget.

IH mostly made industrial-grade equipment. So there just seems to be an added security stamped right into the sheet metal. And speaking of the body, it looks quite nice. It looks to be single stage paint with some paint chips that can be seen in pictures. It also helps that this has been given good investments along the way. The white paint is a later upgrade. It's not too fancy to get to work, but there's a nice shine that goes well with the bright grille and front bumper. The grill has some flaking on the black paint but it looks good and is straight. The full-length side trim is a thoughtful detail where the black with a hint of red coordinates with everything from the IH badging to the full liner paint in the useful long bed. The trim has some pitting but is all there and pretty straight. The LED headlights light the way better. The diamond plate toolbox is both handy and bright; and the rear step bumper helps protect the tow hitch. The wheels keep the 8-lug design of this extra-duty 200 model and they also let you fit a nice set of modern tires.

The interior gives you plenty of classic style with the sliding rear window, a full bench seat, and a rubber floor covering. There are some nice upgrades for comfort, like the CD head unit with Bluetooth, cup holders, and AC. You will also notice a tilt column, and a full set of AutoMeter readouts including a large speedo and tach.

When you open the hood, it looks clean and bow tie valve covers instantly announce this has an upgrade. A motor like Chevy's 350ci V8 is a worthy addition. This truck even has later features like center-bolt valve covers and a serpentine belt system. You will also supporting components everywhere from the aluminum radiator to the auxiliary fuel tank in the bed. This V8 inhales deeper with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with added power and rumble as headers feed the dual exhaust. Power steering, power brakes, and front discs make for an easy driver. The 350 is paired to a TH400 transmission. This is a true 4x4 with a two-speed transfer case to make sure that this sharp-looking 200 pickup can uphold the versatile reputation of International Harvester.
